Trend is a new restaurant that opened recently, at the Ansal Plaza complex, Delhi,
As, you can gather by the name they specialize in what’s trending.
We were escorted by Mandeep and given a nice comfortable seat. Soon, after we were presented with their welcome dish. called, the fafre tart!
About the Ambience!
The ambience is cozy. Not overly dark but cheery and non glaringly lit. You could chose to on the sofas, or high chairs. There was also a lounge type area, where you could relax if in a larger group.
The music station was deftly managed by Pranab. The music was pop/edm/mainstream rock, basically, all that’s trending!!!! We particularly enjoyed the mood changes created by change in tempo from Diplo to Bryan Adams to Sia.

We ordered Falooda & Dorinku.
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy either of the mocktails as they seemed a little bit on the heavier and desserty side. I settled for a diet coke!
Three Cheese Soufflé In Potato Cup With Asparagus Fried Sticks
I found these to be very tasty and creamy, full marks to this one!
Chicken Tikka Trilogy
This was served over glass bowl, with a matching dip in it. I found this to be really delicious! The creative presentation was impeccable.
This was the show stopper for me, it was not the usual shape again, but the shape of a long cylinder. The side sauces had molecular aeration, so the twist to the usual coconut chutney was surprising and wow!
Another delectable dish, as good as it looks! It was not regular round, but cut n rectangular pieces. Thin, crispy and without the junky heavy feel.
Entree/ Main Course:
Signature Butter Chicken With Chur Chur Naan.
Anyone in Delhi has had Butter Chicken tons of time, so its really tough to get creative on this one. But boy, did they succeed! The chicken pieces were all minced and mounted high in the centre of the plate like a mountain island. The gravy surrounded the mound and it all looked superb (and tasty too). The naan was delicious too!
Potato Cheddar And Truffle Kulcha
Here again a wonderful twist to the faithful kulcha and dal. The thick stuffed kulcha was yum and aromatic and the creamy dal complimented it well. Taste wise this was even better than the Butter Chicken above, so vegetarians rejoice!
Classic Creme Brulee
The look of the dessert was just as good as the taste. We managed to polish off the whole bowl 😉
Chocolate Coconut Shell & Surprise
This dessert was by far the most meticulously created dessert one could imagine. Nitrogen fumes coming out of the cup make it all the more enticing. In short, if you only want to order one thing here, order this. The sheer effort in making and presenting this, made me feel gulity eating it!
Liquor- license is on the way.
What is my suggestion :
- The presentations of the dishes are absolutely gorgeous, but one could work a bit on the serving size. I found the portion sizes a bit scanty…or maybe it was the taste that kept me wanting for more!
- Need a better lit powder room for ladies. We do wanna check our make-ups there, you know!
