Glamour and Paparazzi at its best at India’s first ever Intimate Fashion week (IIFW)

For everyone who likes to follow the latest in the world of fashion, India Intimate Fashion Week held on March 18, 2017 at the Leela Hotel, Sahar, Mumbai was a first of its kind event organized in Mumbai or for that matter in India, with a focus on promoting intimate women and men wear. India’s leading Lingerie and Resort wear designers like Nidhi Munnim, Karishma Jumani, Keith Jackson and jewellery designer Mona Shroff among others showcased their work which cater to upmarket women and men under garments, lingerie, sports undergarments and exotic undergarments and mesmerized the audience.

The event was not only about intimate wear but about promoting “intimacy” in general, with serveral works of art, and installations right outside the auditorium where the event was being held. Have a look at some of the great art pieces by renowned artists at the venue.

In India we still consider talking about intimate wear and lingerie as “taboo”. Thus “#BooTheTaboo” theme was perfect for the IIFW.

Niraj Jawanjal, Founder and Director of IIFW, said “The intimate wear industry is amongst the largest industries across the world and has grown tremendously in last few years. However, in India, we still consider talking about lingerie and intimate wear as ‘Taboo”. While we are bringing a revolution in the field of fashion through IIFW, we would urge people to be open about their choices in this segment and ‘#BooTheTaboo’ in India.”

The show was opened by the ace Shanghai based Fashion Designer of Indian Origin Keith Jackson , whose brand La Joli set the ramp on fire when his stunning lingerie and women inner wear collection were showcased by high class glamorous model causing a huge roar in the audience.

Miss Manipur 2016 Phapha Cara Ge Gachui walked the ramp as showstopper for his fascinating collection.

This was followed by a stellar showcase by ‘La Intima’, a brand that specializes in intimate clothing. La Intima showcased an elegant collection of undergarments which included both men and women’s wear, showcasing the finest intimate apparel of all shapes and sizes.

IIFW also witnessed showcasing of ravishing intimate jewellery by the internationally acclaimed Mona Shroff, a world renowned jewellery designer from Hongkong, who has won several awards and accolades at India and international fashion weeks, The Oscars, Cannes, Grammys are just some of the events in which world- class celebrities have graced the red carpet wearing her jewelry.

Mona Shroff , presented her stunningly artistic jewellery, perfectly blended with rich and exotic looks for intimate wear and also showcased her own vintage, classic lines featuring semi-precious stones, man-made diamonds (Cubic Zirconia) and Swarovski crystals in 14-18 carat gold plating jewellery.

Indian Actress Meenakshi Dixit (of Laal Rang Fame opposite actor Randeep Hooda) walked the ramp for Mona Shroff .With her sizzling moves and Bollywood singer Sandeep Batra’s mesmerising voice, the entire audience had to get up from their seats and applaud them.

The key highlight of the evening which left everyone mesmerized and craving for more was Karishma Jumani who showcased her latest resort wear collection of intimate wear ‘FAIRYTALE FLORAL’ under her label ‘La Lencería’. The fairy tale florals presented by LaLenceria brand gives that utterly feminine, fresh and cheerful spring-like look when it comes to floral prints. Her collection pairs unusual forms of fresh flora with subtle and elegant style at the India Intimate Fashion Week. Reflecting the ‘Sun’s out, bra’s out’ trend this season, the collection walks you through the untrodden pathway to a secret garden where flowers catch the sunlight through the thicket and sprightly sprigs stretch forth unabashed.

Triumph International India (Pvt) Ltd., the leading makers of women’s inner wear in India, presented their exclusive line of high quality, fashionable and comfortable womens’ wear which turned out to be a major highlight of the show. Triumph displayed their Body Make-up Lace Collection, Magic wire collection, Beauty-full collection and many more during the show.

The Grand Finale of the IIFW witnessed some high octane oomph and glamour designer Nidhi Munim who set the temperatures soaring by showcasing her collections of exotic and intimate swim wear , resorts wear and beach essentials.
